Mathematical Analysis II

The course gives an introduction to Functional Analysis, Paley-Wiener spaces, sampling and interpolation of continuous functions.

Learning outcome

After completing the course, the student will have knowledge of key concepts and ideas in Functional Analysis. Furthermore, the student will have knowledge of selected advanced topics such as sampling, interpolation and reconstruction of continuous functions.

Contents

Introduction to the basic theory of Hilbert and Banach spaces, L_p-spaces, Paley-Wiener spaces, sampling and interpolation of continuous functions. The emphasis is made on both theoretical understanding and use.
