Physics Laboratory

This is the study programme for 2020/2021.

The course gives an introduction to the field of experimental measurements.

Learning outcome

After having completed this course the student should be able to:
- Realise that different types of uncertainties are to be associated with experimental measurements.
- Conduct standard procedures for propagation of errors.
- Apply statistical methods for analysing and presenting experimental data.
- Exercise basic experimental skills with focus on accuracy.
- Write a technical report.

Linear Algebra, power series, Taylor series, Fourier series, functions of multiple variables. Mathematical software (Maple).
Note that the final exam is given in the same language as the lecture series.

Coursework requirements

Compulsory hand-ins
In total 8 compulsory laboratory assigments are to be carried out. The seven first have to be approved before access to the exam is given. The eighth assignment counts in addition 40% of the total grade given. The schedule for assignments will be published on Canvas when the semester starts.
