Work placement - Energy, Environment and Society and Change Management

Through the work placement, which you can take in your third semester, you get relevant work experience from one of the business the Departement of Media and Social Sciences collaborate with. The work placement offers you an invaluable insight into how your academic competence can be used in the work life.

How to apply

  1. Write a general application where you explain why you want to do a work placement.
  2. Write idividual motivation texts to the businesses you wish to apply to. You can apply to up to three business, ranging them from your first to your third choice.
  3. Do not write in the application or motivation texts how you have ranged the businesses. Write this in a separate document which will not be forwarded by UiS to the business.
  4. Collect your transcript of records for your first semester.
  5. Send all documents as PDF files to post-ims@uis.no.

Students enrolled in the Energy, Environment and Society and Change Management master's programme, who have achieved a minimum average grade of C in 80 per cent of the first semester courses, can apply. 

Applicants who meet the above criteria, will be evaluated based on their application and CV. Nominal length of study will be emphasized. The business chose which students they wish to invite to job interviews.

Not all applicants are guaranteed to be offered work placement. Those who do not receive an offer must choose other elective courses.
