Counselling service for students at UiS

Do you need someone to talk to, or do you have any practical questions regarding your studies? We are introducing an easy-access counselling service for students at the University of Stavanger.

Lonely student on campus Do you need someone to talk to?

These are unusual times for all of us – perhaps more so for students who are far away from home and with a limited social network in a foreign city. But local students may also find themselves struggling these days.

The University of Stavanger and SiS (Studentsamskipnaden in Stavanger) are introducing an easy-access counselling service for students at the UiS – whether you just need someone to talk to or have practical questions relating to exams or teaching.

Send an e-mail to studenthjelp@uis.no to let us know what you want to talk about, so that we can connect you with the appropriate support service:

  • Feeling isolated and lonely and just need someone to talk to?
  • Do you need an online consultation with a psychologist?
  • Do you need guidance concerning your study programme?
  • Would you like to attend a webinar on how to cope with your worries about the coronavirus?

It would be convenient if you included your phone number in your e-mail. We will get back to you within 24 hours – either by e-mail or phone.

On Friday March 20 at 2 pm (14:00) we will hold a webinar on how to cope with anxiety about the coronavirus. Identify yourself with your student number to access the webinar. This webinar is in Norwegian, but there will be arranged webinars in English later on.
