Session description:

This session teaches you how to search the library’s databases for specific types of literature for your paper. You will receive useful tips regarding search methods and how to request books or articles from other libraries.  


Target audience: Bachelor’s students

Prior knowledge: Not required

Teaching method: Lectures and demonstration

Equipment: Bring your own laptop

Registration: Requested by instructor

Length of session: 1½  - 2 hours

  • how to search in ORIA for books by title, author and subject
  • how to locate and borrow books from the library
  • how to get on the waiting list for a book
  • how to request a book from another university library
  • how to search for articles in ORIA and Google Scholar
  • how to download articles in full text
  • what resources and services the university library offers
  • where you can locate resources related to your subjects (Libguides)
  • how to access the library’s digital resources from home (EZProxy)
