SAIH is the solidarity organization of students and academics in Norway. We focus on education in development cooperation, as well as North/South information and political advocacy in Norway.

SAIH was founded in 1961 as a part of Norwegian students and academic’s anti-apartheid engagement. Our motto, “education for liberation”, is about how active participation creates political awareness and change.

Today SAIH has 11 local chapters at Universities and University-College all over Norway. In the local chapter you can work with various intriguing subjects ranging from jailed student activists in Zimbabwe and women’s rights in
Nicaragua, to queer rights in South Africa, the occupation of Western Sahara and education for indigenous peoples in

We invite regularly to debates, film screenings and campaigns, so that we learn something new, discuss with
the experts and find solutions.
