Write and refer

Here you will find tips and links to useful writing tools, and help finding literature and using references.

During your studies you will write several kinds of papers with requirements for academic integrity and writing skills. The library arranges useful classes every term, on using sources and searching for literature.

If you can't attend those classes, we recommend you to take a look at our digital course, and other digital resources that give you a quick introduction to writing papers and source review.

The library also holds regular classes in how to cite and create bibliographies. Reference programs such as EndNote and Zotero are widely used, but there are also instructions on how to do this manually.

Submission of your thesis
Master theses are to be submitted by the student to the university's digital archive UiS Brage. The library has made guides for each faculty that takes you step by step through the submission.

Help and guidance from the library
Remember that you can always get help and guidance when the library is staffed. You can also send us questions about what you need to know.

The Study Lab provides guidance in academic writing for students, and arranges classes on this.
