Taking innovations to market – opportunities and challenges

The seminar is arranged by Centre for Innovation Research and will present findings from the study of three newly established firms striving to commercialize their highly innovative products into a competitive market.

We are pleased to announce a seminar arranged by Centre for Innovation Research on May16th at 2.30 pm- 4.00 pm in Ellen & Axel Lunds hus, room H-125.

During the seminar dr. Elin Oftedal (University of Tromse) and dr. Tatiana Iakovleva (University of Stavanger) will present findings from the study of three newly established firms striving to commercialize their highly innovative products into the competitive market. This research project was funded by Centre for Innovation Research in 2008 and resulted in four scientific publications.

Different innovation typology and its importance for the marketing strategy will be discussed. Further, we will talk about legitimacy and how to build accept of the respective product/service in the marketplace. Finally, firm strategic focus and its impact on the development of organization and commercialization activity will be discussed.

Dr. Oftedal and dr. Iakovleva have received their dr. oecon. degrees from Bode Graduate School of Business (Norway) and their research interest covers entrepreneurial activities and innovation strategies on the firm as well as on the individual level. In addition to this main focus, dr. Oftedal has a special focus on academic entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship, while dr Iakovleva’s research interests include as well female entrepreneurship, transition economies as well as entrepreneurial and innovation intentions.
